Parkland Health Center is transitioning to a new, upgraded patient portal called MyChart. This web-based tool gives you access to a secure, convenient and free way to manage your personal health information. MyChart is linked to Epic, our new electronic medical record system at Parkland Health Center and throughout BJC HealthCare.
You will still have access to review information in the current patient portal, myBJC, for a few more months. We suggest printing any information that you’d like to keep.
Some of your appointment and clinical history will be moved into MyChart and all future information and actions will go through this portal. Also, there is a mobile application so you can access health information on-the-go.
MyChart will allow you to do many of the same things as myBJC, plus some enhancements:
- View your test results
- Do your own health tracking and charting
- View your appointments at Parkland Health Center and with BJC Medical Group providers
According to Sara Worley, patient care services project manager, Parkland Health Center, MyChart offers numerous capabilities and ease of use. “The mobile app lets me connect with my provider even when I’m not at my computer,” she says. “I can pick an available appointment even when I’m on the go.”
Worley says MyChart saves time at the actual appointment as well. “I can pre-verify my health history and even pay my co-pay ahead of time,” she says. “But after the appointment, I can refill my prescription quickly and easily too. There are so many benefits to using this tool!”
If you used myBJC, you should have received a letter with instructions on how to log in and set up your account and preferences in MyChart. For help logging in to your MyChart account, call the support team at 314.273.1966 or toll free 866.273.1966. For questions about your health care, call your physician's office.
