As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality health care to the Farmington community, Parkland Health Center announced the opening of a new medical office building, Parkland Health Center Primary Care Clinic. The new clinic will be conveniently located on the northeast corner of the health center campus at 1106 Hazel Lane.

Telemedicine — also known as telehealth — is a virtual service that allows patients to have a one-on-one conversation or consultation with a provider or specialist remotely.

The Parkland Health Center Surgical Center will focus on the following outpatient services: ophthalmology, ear nose and throat (ENT) and some minor orthopedic procedures. In addition, future construction is planned which will result in gastroenterology services also being provided at the surgical center. Major orthopedic surgeries will still occur at the main campus.

Parkland Health Center is excited to announce plans for its new Women's Center. Construction teams started work on the $2.3 million project, which is expected to be completed in January 2025. Construction will occur in six phases to help maintain diagnostic imaging and their current operations.

As a wife, mom, and the principal at Farmington High School, Jamie LaMonds, 47, juggles a number of roles, responsibilities, and activities on any given day. It’s the standard operating procedure for many women – tending to others often means your own health and needs can get overlooked.

To further enhance Parkland Health Center’s commitment to lactation, the hospital’s mother-baby nurses recently completed the Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) training to become CLCs. The hospital has nine CLCs on staff, who are dedicated to the promotion, protection, and support of breastfeeding. 

Parkland Health Center's Obstetrical Services department has been recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a designated "birthing-friendly" hospital.

U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice, has named BJC HealthCare’s Parkland Health Center a 2024 High Performing hospital for Maternity Care with uncomplicated pregnancies. This is the highest award a hospital can earn in this category.
