Parkland Health Center is pleased to announce that Alyssa Trautman has been selected as the Star Service Team Member for May 2017. Alyssa is a Registered Dietitian and has worked in the dietary department at Parkland Health Center for three years.
When asked what she likes most about her job, Alyssa said, “Working with the patients.” She explained that she enjoys providing education and helping people with the problems they face, including teaching them to manage or prevent health disparities. Alyssa sees patients in the hospital and also teaches a class in the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center.
The nomination from Alyssa’s peers reads in part, “Our May Star Service employee is always pleasant to talk to, positive, and goes above and beyond to find an answer if it is something she doesn’t know. She is very kind to patients and always has a smile. She provides excellent dietetic services at all times, but is always willing to help . . . in the kitchen if needed. If she gives her word, she follows through. She is also an active member of our health literacy team.”
When asked how she felt about being honored with the Star Service award, Alyssa said, “I was so surprised! I am honored to be a representation of the hospital.”
