Parkland Health Center is pleased to announce that Teresa Stricklin, RN, has been selected as the ICARE Star Service Employee for January 2018. Teresa is a nurse in the intensive care unit and has worked at Parkland Health Center and Mineral Area Regional Medical Center for a combined total of 23 years.
Excerpts from Teresa’s nomination read, “She is compassionate to every patient that comes through the doors. She is always smiling and projects a positive attitude that adds to the department. She is very helpful to her co-workers and is always willing to assist most times when not even asked. She is dependable and can always be counted on. Patients love her when she is their caregiver. She has that extra touch that so many that are sick need.”
When asked what she likes about her job at Parkland, Teresa responded, “My ICU family/co-workers. The patients are awesome. I like being able to help someone – if I can help one person, I feel I have accomplished something.” Reflecting on the award, Teresa said, “There are so many good people who work here; it is quite an honor. I was shocked!”
