Parkland Health Center is pleased to announce that Austin Tharp has been selected as the ICARE Star Service Employee for July 2017. Austin works as a floor finisher in the housekeeping department and has worked at Parkland Health Center for five years.
Austin enjoys working at Parkland and stated, “Everyone is so nice, and we work in good surroundings.” He described it as a “family” atmosphere and added, “After you work here awhile, it feels like family.” When asked how he felt about being honored with this award, Austin responded, “I was shocked!”
The nomination from Austin’s peers reads in part, “Our Star Service Employee for July cares about patients, visitors and co-workers. He is always willing to help any time someone is in need. He maintains a positive attitude and lives our ICARE journey every day. He works hard to maintain a clean environment and is respected by his co-workers. He always has a smile and a kind word for those he sees in the hallways. He is dependable, focused and loves his job.”
ICARE is Parkland’s patient experience service initiative and the acronym stands for the following values; Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
