Parkland Health Center-Bonne Terre celebrated 100 years of service to the community in July 2011.

  • Parkland health Center's combined Emergency Departments treat over 34,000 patients annually
  • Both facilities are staffed 24/7 with trauma-trained physicians, nurses and technicians
  • Certified sexual assault nurse examiners are available at both Emergency Departments and emergency nurses are also trained in pediatric advanced life support and advanced cardiac life support
  • St. Louis Children’s Hospital Transport Team is housed at Parkland Health Center 24/7 and is available to respond to an emergency call within a 250-mile radius; the specially trained team is available to assist in the Emergency Department or Obstetrics Department at Parkland Health Center when not responding to a call
  • Telemedicine technology is available for stroke patients; this links Parkland Health Center's Emergency Department with specialists at Barnes Jewish Hospital
  • Telemedicine technology for appropriate transfer patients is available; this links Parkland Health Center's Emergency Department with physicians at Missouri Baptist Medical Center
  • A seamless transfer to Missouri Baptist Medical Center’s cardiac catheterization lab is available for acute heart attack patients
  • Parkland Health Center has four heliports; three at Parkland Health Center-Farmington and one at Parkland Health Center-Bonne Terre
  • Parkland Health Center's Emergency Department serves as a clinical site for Mineral Area College’s EMT, paramedic, nurse practitioner, LPN and RN students
