Parkland Health Center is pleased to announce that Kim Jackson has been selected as the ICARE Star Service Employee for December 2017. Kim is a respiratory therapist and has worked at Parkland Health Center for 25 years.
Excerpts from Kim’s nomination read, “The star service employee for December is always willing to do what is necessary to take care of our patients in both respiratory and HBO (hyperbaric oxygen therapy). She always has a positive attitude and makes everyone smile. She has proven to be highly attentive to our patients and is truly dedicated to her job and PHC. She is an excellent therapist, co-worker, team member and friend to many.”
When asked what she likes about her job at Parkland, Kim responded, “Taking care of patients. I enjoy caring for the same patients over and over, and seeing lots of patients all over the hospital.” Reflecting on the award, Kim said, “It’s an honor any time you’re recognized for doing what you do. It’s nice to know you are appreciated for doing a good job.”
ICARE is Parkland’s patient experience service initiative and the acronym stands for the following: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
