Parkland Health Center is pleased to announce that Mike Meinhardt has been selected as the ICARE Star Service Employee for June 2017. Mike works in the facilities management department and has worked at Parkland Health Center for seven years. This is the second time that Mike has received this award, having also been selected in 2012.
What Mike likes most about his job is having the opportunity to meet and work with people in different areas of the hospital. When asked how he felt about being honored with this award, Mike responded, “I was surprised. It’s not something that I expected. I always try to help anyone who needs it, just to make their job easier. It’s good to be recognized; it’s humbling."
The nomination from Mike’s peers reads in part, “Mike has been an integral part of the facilities management department. No matter how busy his day, he always offers friendly greetings to patients, visitors and co-workers. He is quick to stop and offer assistance to others and is a wonderful example of Parkland’s vision and values.”
