New Schedule for 2019 Childbirth and Breastfeeding Classes at Parkland Health Center

Expecting a baby, or know someone who is?  Our OB department offers a free childbirth class each month that is open to ANY expectant parents.  In 2019, the class will be held from 8 a.m. until noon on the second Saturday of each month at Parkland Health Center.

In addition, a free breastfeeding class is taught on the first Monday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parkland Health Center (second Monday in September due to Labor Day holiday). This class is open to ANY new or expectant mom.

Selena Earnest, RN, nurse educator for Parkland’s OB Department, teaches the classes along with Katie Odom, RN and Chelsea Faries, RN.  Selena said, “I enjoy interacting with the expectant parents who come to our classes.  I am passionate about educating new moms and dads and helping them to feel more prepared to bring their precious babies home.  Katie, Chelsea and I have combined nursing experience of over 30 years and we look forward to helping families have an excellent experience!”

Most classes fill up very quickly, so it’s important to register for a class as soon as possible.
